I have a 2g iphone jailbroken on 2.2 and I just started experiencing a problem. When I slide to unlock or receive an sms or email my phone makes no sound. Its not the speaker because the speaker works fine in ipod and the phone also vibrates and rings when it is called but I can't figure out why these alerts are not working. Someone please help.

    Thanks.

I had the same problem, powered it off and on and everything worked fine again.

Possibly try downloading a winterboard sound theme? See if alternate sounds work for you.

Worst case, you could always restore to the Original Apple Firmware and try JailBreaking again to see if that fixes it. JB is easy now with all the GUI's and n00b tutorials.
