So according to AT&T I'm not eligible for the iPhone 4 upgrade at a discounted price.

    So I have a question.
Should I WAIT to get the 32gb for $500 in February, OR should I try to sell my current 3gs 32gb for as much as I can and pay the difference for a 32gb 4 for $700?

    Ideas?

You think your life is bad, my contract ends Jan 2012 unless I pay up £600 to release me from my contract. Nah thanks

To be frank, id wait to next June when the iPhone 5G comes out - yesh the new phone hasa all the new bits added to it, but to be honest, wouldn't you rather a free phone or a $500 price tag?

Who said there will be an iPhone 5G out right along schedule with the previous releases? You never know.

You can usually talk your carrier into giving you the discounted price anyway. Ask your family to sign up for a family plan maybe, or join the accounts and your carrier might give it at the discounted price if all accounts on the family plan tie in for 3-Years. That's what happened when I purchased my iPhone 3G... 2 months after I signed a 3-Year Contract on a Krzr.

Personally unless you must have the iPhone 4, let your contract run out, for 4 reasons:
    1. It will cost you the least in the long run
    2. If other carriers bring out the iPhone you'll get a better deal after your contract runs out
    3. The iPhone 5g will be just round the corner, you can pre-order and be one of the first to get it.
    4. Other than a front camera you won't be gaining as much as if you had a 2G/3G iPhone (the 3GS is remaining in production, and will run iOS4)

Mine runs out in Feb. 2011 also. But what i'm going to do is sell my 16GB 3G for as much as possible and pay the early upgrade price which is probably around $400 for the 16GB iPhone 4. In the end, after math is done, I sell my 3G for least $200 and i'm paying regular upgrade price for iPhone 4. Also, if you wait till Feb. to upgrade, your paying regular upgrade price which is $300 and initial fees, where'd you get $500 from?

If I were to switch to at&t (currently on t-mobile), would I be eligible to the discounted price with a 2-3 yr contract?

Upgrade price for 16gb is $400 and upgrade for 32gb is $500. New Contract is $200 and $300.

Thats what i said? Early upgrade on 16GB is $400, I sell my current iPhone for least 200 and im still paying same price as if i got a new contract, which is $200.

Don't upgrade to the iPhone 4 if your contract ends on 2/11, instead wait for the iPhone 5.

    This.

    iPhone 5 > iPhone 4g.

For what reason you may ask?

    New features.
Will cost you less than to get out of contract/new phone.
You can save up for the next iPhone.
    Just wait
