No toslink audio output

    Ok, got a problem thats doing my head in. My apple TV was working perfectly fine. Recently we just moved house, plug everything back in and now for some reason I've got no audio output from the toslink. My setup is:
    ATV2 - HDMI ->TV
    ATPV2 - TOSLINK ->optical splitter -> stereo.

    There was nothing wrong with the setup before moving house - it worked perfectly like this. Now I know theres no issue with any of the cables or stereo as that all work fine during a process of elimination. My DVD player has sound output through the splitter to the stereo. No sound direct optical from ATV to stereo. Updated to the latest 5.0.2 no change. Any ideas?

    Those optical cables are VERYYYYY fragile.

    cables have been swapped around and working with other equipment and so have been ruled out of the problem
