Hey, I recently dropped my 2nd generation iPod Touch into the snow, everything was fine except my speaker. When I turn my volume up/down with no headphones plugged in, the white volume popup says I have them in. I plugged in my headphones and I had perfect sound, except when I took them out I heard absolutely nothing from the speaker. I restored my iPod a few minutes ago and still no dice with the speakers.

I would assume the snow melted and got into the headphone jack and did something I wouldn't understand. Does anyone know what is wrong with my iPod touch? I am still under warranty, but I am willing to pay to replace anything if I have to.

Look inside your headphone jack, and has the litmus paper turned red?

If the litmus paper has turned red, some people have reported that they were able to make it white by rubbing it with bleach. I think even some said they were able to use white-out.

It sounds like that's the problem, I'd just send it in as long as it's still under warranty.

The paper at the end of the headphone jack is white. I'll make a trip to the Apple store later, will I have to pay for them to fix it, or will it be free?

if it's white, then they will pay for it, BUT DON"T SAY YOU DROPPED IT IN SNOW!! SAY IT STOPPED WORKING!!! and when you restored, did you rejailbreak?

I would assume it's free because of the warranty.
