My iPod has stopped producing any sound via the earphone socket or from the socket on the bottom of the player - either through my ipod trip auto or from the ipod speaker system I have.
Please any ideas - is there a mute button I don't know about.
I've tried multiple songs which previously played.
However the songs still can be shown and played via iTunes.

    Please help
    Thanks in advance

if you have jailbreaked it you will have to restore your ipod and re-jailbreak (if desired) and your sound will be restored

what i would do is buy an ipod radio that connects to the bottom of the ipod, that might fix it. happened to my friend

Still restoring is the best thing for any iPod that can't really do anything for itself
