ok.. i no this is probably in the wrong place, but i don't think anyone in the 2g ipod touch section would know... but i tricked my ipod into thinking its an iphone.

look at the picture.. yeah thats an ipod... so u see the no service carrier on the top left? anyway i can change that? i've tried to use winterboard to change it to the default AT&T carrier logo to make it more realistic.. but it doesn't change... any ideas people who actually HAVE iphones?

    Use extended prefrences.

Get it from Cydia, edit the carrier name under settings --- extended pref, and enable it through winterboard.

Not to hi-jack the thread but what is the dock that you're using in your picture? That looks cool.

    Thanks

    How isn't it working??

Did you write the carrier name in under settings?

Did you make sure Extended pref was checked under winterboard?

ok people.. i'm not stupid.. first off.. wouldn't u think i woulda tried makeitmine already? thats the first thing i tried... secondly, extended doesn't work. period.. i made sure it was checked in winterboard... it doesn't work otherwise! next, i typed in the carrier i wanted, and made the bars... it still did nothing, even after a respring, and a reboot.. nothing. so that doesn't work. neither did supreme prefs.

at this point, i'm looking through some files in the coreservices folder of the ipod and seeing if there is anything i can change... cause what my ipod is doing, is its trying to search for a carrier. but it doesn't have a cellular device to it, so it finds nothing. i think what i may have to do is trick my ipod again into thinking that a carrier is found, a SIM card is found, or find a way for it to NOT search...

yea i dont think anyone will know this because most people with ipods probably wont have it thinking its an iphone like we do and most people with iphones have sim's in it.

MIM doesn't change it if you have no service as it's a system message, not the carrier logo.
