    [Recovery] !iBSS221pwn.dfu
    Executing: iBSS221pwn.dfu
    OK

After executing the above commands, using the redsn0w guide, my iPod Touch 2G will respond to nothing. Attempts to enter DFU mode have failed, no response from the iPod or my Mac. I do have the 10.5.5 USB package installed.

    Please note,
This was AFTER a restore to a pwned .ipsw in iTunes.

So you are trying to boot your ipod, right? If so, have you tried using a boot helper?

I need to be in DFU to use a boot helper, and I cannot seem to enter DFU mode using traditional timing.

I have tried that, as well as using a metronome to insure my timing is correct, still, no response.

Are you sure your doing DFU right? Just in case here it is:
Hold Sleep/wake and Home button for 10 seconds
    Let go of Sleep/wake
Keep holding home button for 5-10 seconds or until your computer recognizes it.

Thats weird, did you do anything to the ipod before you tried to reboot it?
Also, do you have LibUsb installed (just to make sure)

He already restored to a custom ipsw and sent a working command, but after that no response. Turn off and try again? I dunno, I'm not good with what the n00bs call "omg i bricked my itouch crap"

So you cant go into DFU mode? Recovery mode?
