    No music

Are you sure you really have music on your iPod? I've clicked on My Music too and I can see my iPod contents.
Maybe your iPod database is corrupted, which prevents the program from listing your iPod songs. You should try their other tool called CopyTrans Doctor http://www.copytrans.net/doctor.php that establishes a diagnostic of your iPod for free.

    the update button

Did you click on the "update ipod" button?? If you don't your music wont sync.

I think you have two options, either apply changes whenever you add a song, or apply them all together at the end. In any case you need to click this button, otherwise you won't have your music on your ipod... the new version works with the iphone 'till version 1.1.4
