I had wondered about that, I think it's only a matter of time before we get a new Griffin tunetalk kind of thing that works on the touch models through the dock connection. That's the problem with apple, these firmware updates that announce new features are news to developers of peripherals just like they are to consumers. So it takes some serious time for development and production for these new products that take advantage of new abilities to hit the market.

It has always been a matter of them enabling the feature, that's why the jailbroken mic worked. The port is capable of recording. Now developers may have to add a separate set of conditions for which port to check for microphone... meh.

yay! This just confirms what I saws in a post earlier from a kid that had an iVoiceIII. I immediately went to amazon and bought one =} In a week from now I'll have a very rare iVoiceIII and most other won't =]> I suggest everyone buy one NOW while they're still on the market (somewhere).

I would like to confirm that this works. I am not sure that you can adjust the volume of the speaker. The skype voice playback was a little choppy. I have emailed the team that made irec voice recorder ( because that and others will not let you download to 1 generation ) asking what they can donthey claim that when they submit the app the options are iPhone / iPod touch1 g or iPhone/ iPod touch 2 g. not all three. I find that odd isn't there pleanty of apps
    that work on all three?

Does any one know how to get around this?
