I've searched around the site and haven't found any help regarding this so I apologize if it's been solved before.

I jailbroke my 1G touch a few days ago and installer worked fine for the first couple of days but now when it boots it crashes before it loads. I've seen solutions to this that involve SSHing into the iPod then changing something in the var/mobile/library/installer directory however when I got into the library directory installer was nowhere to be seen. Any way I can get installer back? Thanks a lot

Oh yeah I jailbroke with QuickPwn.

I would just restore and re-jailbreak. Just to get a clean start

or just find install.app from google, and replace the current one.

    OR just get cydia.

Yeah just get cydia i personally think the ported installer for 2.x firmwares is very unreliable and unstable

Just reJailbreak without restoring. Im pretty sure you'll get installer back if you do.
