Can you or can't you use an iPhone as an ipod without ATT? I would like to do so until my Verizon contract is up.

yes. if you jailbreak the iphone, it would bypass the activation and you can use the phone as an ipod with youtube, safari, mail enabled over wifi

well if you want to have a 1.1.2 jailbreaked iphone then you would have to downgrade to 1.1.1 iphone then do the oktoprep. its the same steps as the ipod touch
