When I play videos (YouTube, MP4, etc.) the video is only in horizontal mode. Is this normal, or is there a defect on my device?

In most cases, the accelerometer gets on my nerves. When I'm lying down trying to type in web pages or looking at pictures, it adjusts to what I don't want it to do.

I'm surprised no one has come out with an accelerometer locking app or tweak.

do you mean, that you would be looking at a picture that needs to be flipped
    so you flip the touch
and then the picture gets flipped???
    if thats what you mean
    i know what you mean

    hahahahah
made least amount of sense.. but if re-read, i bet it could make sense.

Yeah I know what you're saying. Even if there was just a small switch on the iPod or a simple app...it would make it so much better.

The only time that you can watch videos in portrait is when you watch a link from safari (since safari itself can do landscape).

Maybe you could try rotating and resizing your videos on the computer so that you can watch them in portrait...

I KNOW!! I guess Apple didn't think about a "turn off" feature, they Didn't sleep with the iPod to test it out, OMG THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!!!
