I dont think Nintendo help themselves though with the games being priced higher than you'd expect elsewhere and the wii not being as popular.

My main issue with Nintendo going iOS is the quality and controls going downhill, look at any other traditional game on iOS and sega.

I hope this convinces Nintendo to bring their games to iOS/Android finally. I've wanted to play Mario Kart on my phone since I first played it on the Wii!

I don't think it's because of the iphone, you just can't compare a phone with a game console, it's like comparing a hamburger with a salad. I have all three consoles, first I bought a wii but since I got my xbox I rarely play wii, and the 3ds is just not for me, I prefer spending my money on more games I can play with my friends online.

They should blame themselves for their kiddy console and their kiddy games. It was a matter of time before this happened, no one in their right might plays the majority of the games available on their consoles.

I would LOVE Super Mario on the iPad that would be amazing! I mean would it be possible to build an accessory to plug into the iPad that converts game cartridges from NES, Game Boy and other Nintendo platforms because I still have all my old cartridges, or if they can just convert them to apps that'd be cool too.

...Their consoles are targeted at everyone. Not just children.

Anyways, how the hell does a cell phone compare to a portable game console?

They should decide right away to bring their games on iOS or Android devices, that would make up some of their loss and maybe really hit their sales target.

I don't think Nintendo's problems have much to do with the iPhone. It's just that the 3D technology is a misjudged hype. And looking at the 3DS it's not better - the 3D effect is not really that impressive and rather causes a headache. Then there's no real reason for game developers to support 3D when the user can turn it off eventually.
Nintendo just overrated 3D. Nonetheless I would love to see some classic games being ported over to iOS. Or it would be even nicer if they brought Virtual Console to iOS :O

Nintendo's issue is supporting more "common" games. The Wii is impossible to play most games on and the controllers are uncomfortable. The DS also suffers from the similar problems. I don't want to be a 3DS, I'd rather wait for the 3DS Lite or whatever they'll do.Their internet capabilities are rather crummy, too.
Phones have definitely hit Nintendo, though. It used to be that you had to buy a gameboy to do casual portable gaming, but now it seems every phone has app capabilities to download free casual games equivalent to Tetris. It'd be ridiculous to buy a DS to casually play whenever you can buy a phone that does media, gaming, and internet browsing too.
I hope they rebound here pretty soon, though, since they usually tend to innovate while other consoles stay "safe."
