I am going to buy a DS this week, just to play the DS games, I do not care for features of the newer DS's. My question is, I am going to buy an action replay. I have had one for my Gameboy Advanced, SP, and was wondering, is it the same concept? Enter codes, enable the ones you want? Etc? Also, I have googled this and some people say that this could mess up your save file? Is this true? Or are there any other dangers in it? My GB Advanced SP never had problems.

Every Action Replay has the same risks as the ones for previous platforms. For the record, mine wouldn't work anymore after 2 months. Not quite sure why and it would just boot up to a white screen.

only danger is if you use codes that change the appearance of the game or use it do do unbareble things. EXP is in the pokemon game. Noclip cheat allows you to walk anywhere. If the cheat somehows stop you'd be stuck there and not be able to do anything until the cheat comes back.
