Apparently my phone wants me to update. I can't do that on a rooted phone right? I have to unroot, upgrade, and then re-root?

    I can't dismiss it either. :(

Is the Franco kernel updated for the N4? Is Super SU updated too? And can I re-root my phone? I rooted my phone last time with a toolkit.

Or, how good is the battery life on the Nexus 4 on 4.3? I only root for the battery life. Otherwise, I wouldn't root.

If you still have stock recovery then you can upgrade no problem I think. Might overwrite the kernel to stock. And check out voodoo ota root keeper.

Couldn't you just flash the 4.3 ROM in recovery? I'm not sure about the kernel being updated or not.

Idk. Would I have to remove the Franco kernel first do you think?

    *This is way too complex...

It would be removed when you flash the new ROM, and it isn't that complicated lol

It would be much easier to just flash a custom 4.3 ROM :p

YOU CANNOT FLASH FRANCO KERNEL WITH 4.3 THERE IS NO WORKING ONE YET. If you flash it it will result in bootloop. (I read this on the N4 Franco page, wait 2 days and you will have the Franco's again)

If he just flashes a 4.3 rom he won't have the updated modem.

Zyiros this isn't complicated. You're just bugging yourself out. And this is why automated rooting isn't always good. Because this happens. You have custom things and don't exactly know what. Just need to calm down and think. Ok you're rooted, Franco kernel, you need to boot into recovery to find out which one you have. Find a video on YouTube.

I'm going to get a plan on my phone today or tomorrow (like in a few hours), so I need to sort this out quickly...sigh...

    Nburnes

In this video he flashes the 4.3 ROM right? He is still rooted with the bootloader unlocked right? And then as Xerox says, in a couple days I can get a franco kernel again?

Actual Franco released r170, which works with the 4.3 JWR66V release.
