At some point, there shall me a limit of thinness.

But if there is a thinner display then more hardware can be fitted in to the same area space. So maybe the 6th Gen iPod Touch could have an ambient light sensor as well as being as thin as it is now

All I know is that we've past where that limit should be more than 2 years ago. (well, I guess it kind of depends on wich iDevice we're talking about, but the iPod Touch really doesn't need to be any thinner than the 4th gen, even that one is a bit on the thin side)

This is true, a thinner display would mean a greater amount of hardware. I'd do for a bigger battery however, I think that's what companies need to develop right now, since on average, a smartphone can survive only one day on it's battery charge.

I'd be for making it thinner for the sake of fitting more inside. Maybe then the next iPod touch camera would actually be flush with the rest of the device.

Yeh, but this could also mean larger capacity batteries inside a device as the extra physical space could hold a larger battery. I agree a larger battery would be good, but as more features such as NFC, 4g, higher res screens are added, the battery is consumed quicker so every generation of a device already has a vastly improved battery life but the problem is these things new features are being added which make it seem like the battery life is the same. Stick a battery from the iPhone 5 in the original iPhone and it would probably last ages!

If the iPod Touch gets any thinner than it already is, I think I would be able to bend/break it using my bare hands. Even if it has stainless steel.

Not necessarily a bigger battery. Just a battery that can hold, let's say, 50% more than it can currently do, but remaining the same size as the current one. Or even slimmer. There are batteries being tested. Like the nano-mesh(not sure about the name) battery. It can be as thin as 1-2mm and is as big as the current iPod Touch 5 battery, but it can hold nearly 80% more charge. Still experimental.
