    Hi there,

I am getting an ipod touch 16gig next week, so guess latest 2nd generation.

I am familliar with computers, PC and Macs, and am very happy with my old ipod. My main query is about the applications and games you can download for the ipod touch.

Where is the best place to get a review of the games and other apps so I can narrow down which ones I may be interested in most?

I tend to like strategy/war games, but don't mind a good puzzle or card game either.

Apps wise, I don't really know what is out there so I don't realise what it is I need....

    Andy

Hi Andy: toucharcade, pocketgamer, apptism are some nice sites.

What's even better is the wealth of information we have in these forums. People diligently submit information on latest games/apps, add their own reviews.

Check the iTunes App Store section for more details.

Thanks guys will check those out.

Think I have worked out what "Jailbreak" means.... Threw me at first. Sounds like it unlocks the ipod touch to use apps from places other than itunes which sounds like a good thing.

Yes, it gives access to the root directory on the iPod to applications other than Apple's pre-approved ones. This facilitates remote login for file management, theming, Bluetooth file transfer (in progress) etc.
