Hi folks. Glad to be part of this forum. I'm living in Beijing for 2 years and own a new 8GB iTouch.

    Here's my problem.

I tried to download an App (called Oxford free Mandarin dictionary), but it's permanently stuck in downloading mode, and I can't figure out how to stop it. Whenever I'm in a wifi zone it goes into downloading mode, and this keeps me from accessing the App store. When I'm not in a wifi zone and try to delete the app, I fail. Holding my finger on it to make it wobbly works, but then there's no 'X' to click on.

How can I get rid of this app?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Try restarting your iPod.

Didn't work. The icon's still there, "waiting." and i still can't delete it.

    Another option?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I managed to get it off, after much syncing and un-syncing. but now downloading apps to the iphone is taking forever. also, i downloaded some apps to my computer in itunes, but when i sync the itouch it's not picking them up.

do you think a vpn connection could be causing problems with the itouch?

    thanks,
    Dave
