    Hi,
I just bought a used Ipod Touch, 8gb at a police auction. Honest I did. Actually I bought 3 of them but the other two are ok. The problem with the touch is that it is locked, I'm guessing by a password. Is there any way to bypass this lock?
Any help would be appreciated. I am a total newbie to the Ipod touch...and Ipod in general.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Im not sure how to do that.....can you give me a tip or two please? Honestly I didn't steal it. I bought 3 Ipods and 3 Bicycles at the auction for $197 canadian. sweet deal. My buddy got a $500 bike for $50 bucks because no one else knew what kind of bike it was.

Plug it into iTunes, hit restore.

You can't do that. iTunes won't let you do anything with it until you key in the passcode.

Put it into DFU mode and restore. Google what DFU mode is.

You open iTunes, plug in your iPod in DFU mode, on the left of iTunes click on the iPod, click restore.

Thanks for the help. It is in the process of reloading. I'll let you know how it turns out....but you probably already know.
    Thanks again

thanks all, worked like a charm. In fact I did the same thing to my old 8 gig nano as well as the other one I bought from the auction to blow away all the songs and put on songs for my kids.
    Thanks again for the help.
