Well this is my first so I'm still getting the hang of it. My old mp3 player was an Archos AV420. I already sold it and decided to get the touch because it was smaller and more manageable to hold in my hand and whlie I work out. I have one teeny question though...

Can you edit your made playlists on the ipod? Or is it only done on itunes?

Also...does Itunes come with software to convert movie files or do you have to go find something? If so, what's some good software?

I could be mistaken, but I believe that you can only organize your playlists through Itunes. As for a video converter, I use a free one called "Videora Ipod Touch converter". There might be better ones that you have to pay for but with Videora I can convert a 700mb avi to a 550mb itunes compatible movie at 480x320. It is very good quality and it takes about an hour and a half per movie to convert with a Pentium4 3ghz pc.

you can edit the on the go playlist on the ipod, and you can edit the other playlists in itunes. itunes does have a converter as well.
