new touch

    Hey guys i just got a brand new touch 8gig.i need to know to things.

    is this a gen 3?how do i know?

    and i tryed blackrain and my touch did not want to reboot..lol

    so i opened itunes and it saved it...

    but why didnt it work?

    Yes, you have a 3rd gen.

    After you run blackra1n initially, it will jailbreak, the go into recovery mode (connect to iTunes screen). At this point, you will need to re-run Blackra1n, which will reboot your iPod.

    it stayed black for about 5 minutes?thats why i needed to recover it..
    so i should retry?

    just connect and press make it rain then wait.

    once it rebboots press again?

    Just re-run blackrain again. (be sure to have firmware 3.1.2)

    That's a good point...if you restored after your initial Jailbreak attempt, you will more than likely have 3.1.3 now. Which is unfortunately (currently) un-jailbreakable.

    Check your firmware version before trying to re-run Blackra1n.
