So, I just got myself an iPod touch 2G and already jailbroke it (Spirit), but since I am new to this apple and ipod touch world, I have a few questions, and I hope some of you have the answers and care to shere the with me.

There are a few vocabulary issues that I have in this "apple laguage". What do these words mean: Unteathered, IPSW, root size. I googled them but I couldnt find any good definitions. BTW, English isn't my main language so yeah...

Also, a friend of mine talked about an app or program that gives you an "infinite" memory on the iPod touch. His is an 8GB and he has over 10GB of music on the iPod Touch.

    Please give me some help...

    Thanks everyone!!

Untethered - You DO NOT have to connect your device to the computer every time you start up your device.
IPSW - iPhone Software, the software versions (3.0, 3.2, 4.0 and so on)
root size - The iPhone file system is divided into two sections, a media and a system, the system is where all jailbroken apps are installed and the OS, the media is apps installed via iTunes, music, videos and everything else. Generally your media partition should be larger than the system.

    Your friend is lying.

I read in another forum that, by using pwnage tool on expert mode you can find your IPSW, click root size and type how big you want it. Could this be connected with the "infinite" memory?

It's not possible to change it. You can change what it says, but it will only appear that way. It's not real. Did he show you? If so, he used something in winterboard.

No this is just how big you want the partition for cydia packages to be. You can't have unlimited amount of memory. Just like chicken said you friend lied.
Theodosius now that you mention winterboard, he might have use FW Spoofer or whatever it was called to change all the things in Settings-->General and showed him that.

Winterboard allows you to put themes and customize the device

It is an app where you apply themes.

Since I jailbroke with Spirit, how can I change the root size of my Cydia packages?

You can't really, just use a theme, like ripply said (That's what I was thinking).
