    All right, so I installed the Windows Cygwin Binary Toolchain properly and complied helloWorld correctly using cygwin.

    I created a new folder (/Applications/helloWorld.app), and uploaded the 18kb complied program helloWorld, Info.plist, and an icon (icon.png) to the folder. I changed the permissions to 755 on all of them, and nothing came up when I rebooted. What am I doing wrong?

    Here is the Info.plist I am using...

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key>
    <string>English</string>
    <key>CFBundleExecutable</key>
    <string>helloworld</string>
    <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
    <string>com.alleyrat.helloworld</string>
    <key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key>
    <string>6.0</string>
    <key>CFBundlePackageType</key>
    <string>APPL</string>
    <key>CFBundleSignature</key>
    <string></string>
    <key>CFBundleVersion</key>
    <string>1.0</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    Check the case of your files: is your program helloWorld instead of the infoworld you mention in Info.plist? Also about Info.plist, make sure the I is uppercase. info.png is lowercase.

    Do you have a Default.png image? Normally it doesn't stop the program from appearing though, but it avoids the funny image you get when you start the application.

    Note that you don't need to reboot for Springboard to add the application, you simply need to respring, it will save you some time.
