How would i go about making a base for my icon so that i dont have to re create it each time? As in what layers, shadows etc do i need to have and in what order?

    Thanks

    whatever works for you, man

i like to have a solid color base, no effects or anything, on the bottom, and then my icon parts above that, and then all my highlights and shadings on top (including any stroke/drop shadow on the base)

download some theme psds and see how they do it, if you want

I think if you download the psds for themes like cooking with confidence it will help you alot
