Hey everyone, I just thought of a new way cydia could be installed: you visit a webpage that that changes appstores homepage to a place where u can install cydia through AppStore, then you go back to that webpage and click a button that returns the homepage to apple's AppStore to normal, OR, you could create a link that tricks the device to think it's received an AppStore link but is a link to cydia that uses AppStore do download and install.

Not possible - Cydia is just part of a jailbreak. The jailbreak is allowing root access and modification of user and below to the filesystem.

Yea, but it could actually work still, when you install blackra1n you get a blackra1n app, well if it installed a hack app that removed apples limits and installed cydia
Anyways, it was just a thought

Majorty [ If not all] of jailbreak apps, tweaks, themes, and installers come as .deb files, while the App Store uses .ipa files. The App Store does NOT have .deb files. Plus, the App Store app and iTunes app are web based apps with their own offline data [ mostly images and cache ], So the only way to connect to a different webpage in the App Store is editing AppStore.app itself, which would require you to jailbreak before you do that, which then and finally makes everything pointless.

    Bottom Line: it won't work.

I know all apps come as debian packages through cydia. I'm saying that cydia runs exactly the same but the device is hacked by AppStore or cydia runs making the device think it's AppStore. And it doesn't matter how the package comes, hounds AppStore to install ipa's.cydia uses .deb's . Theyboth end up as folders on the idevice once unpackaged. AppStore has root access so if the idevice thinks cydia is app store it'll letanything through if apple says yes. But to do that it's another case of shsh blobs: pretend to be apple and say yes.

Cydiasimply pretends to be AppStore when it's running
