So, upgraded to win7 so have a new install of iTunes.

I am ready to sync but wonder if iTunes will remove cydia, circuitous, winterboard and the like?

What else is it likely to kill?

I have just downloaded the .deb files for these (my chances to access wireless are almost zero) and wonder - if they are killed - will these reinstall via /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall?
Hopefully the answer to the first Q is "no worries."

    thanks

No, iTunes does not remove any stuff installed by Cydia. Yes. If you put files in /private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/ I Think they will be installed the next time you open Cydia.

Part of the learning is just 'try it and see' but it is reassuring to click-with-confidence.

Wow, that's good to know. I never new that you could install stuff from Cydia without using WiFi. Thanks applepod!

It's not just when you open Cydia. You put the debs in that folder and then reboot your device, then respring and they will be installed.
