Well, I finally did the hack, but it took a little extra thinking. When I opened up my mic, the whole circuit board was different than what was in the pictures of other peoples. R24 was in a different spot, close to the original, but still different. And C16? That was on the complete other side of the board. Next to the LED I think. Also, a lot of circuitry was removed and/or changed from what I imagine was the previous version. Sorry, no pics. I already superglued it back together, and i'm not going to try to open it up again.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case they want to do this.

I have heard of that problem, your probably correct its a newer version or something.

so did you just run a wire to r24 and c16 still?

Yep. You just have to take a look at the previous photos to see which side of R24 to remove, and then which side of C16 to solder the wire from R24 to.

But in the end, I was really surprised at how clean the mic is. And the line in still works.

You're bound to have a spare LED pin lying around, you can just attach the wire to that and it'll work fine.

i was actually the first one to run into this version of mics. instead of running a wire all the way to C16, just run the wire to either one of the solder points for the LED. its the same 3.3V as C16 and it works just as well
