New Mic Idea, (has this been done yet?)

    It depends on if the headphone jack can recieve signals.

    Why would you need the headphones jack? Just put it all through the dock connector. IMHO the best way to go about this would be to engineer a dock connector adapter for the iPhone headset. It's damn delicious ^_^.

    so we're assuming the dock only handles line -in and stereo jack is only line-out

    the headphone jack is so your headphones can work.


    and no, im sorry but the origional idea posted on this thread not only has been done before (by apple) but has been proven to not work. the design is almost the same as the earbuds/mic combo made for iphone. people have tested it on touch before.

    13, 26 and 29 are the pin indices of the Dock Connector.
    - The Resistor above the mic could be between 1 and 5kOhm, depending on your mic ( The MIC can be an Iphone ear bud, Need to cut the connector and solder)
    - The capacitors C1 and C2 should be above 1microPharad, any vale is ok.

    Just do what the other guy said, duck tape your earbuds and mic together, there ya go.
