Jajaja xD Just kidding, you can make a force restore to fix anything.

Only press the Home button and the Power one for 6 seconds or more. When the Apple logo appears, hold the home button and an iTunes icons will appear, restore and Fixed!

im assuming that it has to be plugged in for this to work?

i plugged it in and just did a power on and i got "this ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then reinstall itunes." reinstalling itunes does not work for me because i have tried three times and i keep getting the same message.

Don't worry make the force restore and yes, you need to plug it in the PC, if iTunes give you a error don't take attention. Make the restore.

you are correct mike. Your iPod must be plugged in. Restore and try again. Good luck!

i don't mean to sound stupid...i'm just trying to do this right. do i connect it to my computer before or after i force restore? and is there a certain amount of time i have to wait for it to restore?

as of right now itunes is not listing my ipod under the devices list, but i get the windows sound for when i connect it and i got the found new hardware balloon, it said "found new hardware ipod in recovery mode" that only happened once, however itunes still doesn't not list it under devices.
