Less than a week after purchasing a new MacBook Pro, I've noticed the following things:

    1. My disk drive has severely scratched my Leopard Install DVD. (It also makes a lot of noise, but that is normal, according to recordings on Apple's support page.)

    2. Since I first opened the back battery/hard drive cover, upon reassembling, the cover will easily slide in and out of place, when the latch is closed.

I'm going to take my machine to the Apple Store this weekend, but I am dismayed, especially since this is my first Mac.

Overall, I'm enjoying it. But I paid good money for it and it needs to last me 4+ years so I want a perfect computer.

The things less then a month old, you have to expect little flaws. That's why I'm just gonna wait for a couple months before I get mine.

After burning two CDs and ripping one, I found that no damage was caused by my drive. That leads me to believe that my Leopard DVD was damaged to begin with, as the only light of day it has seen was through its plastic slip cover.
