What is your wish list for the new 2012 Mac's?

    Here is mine:

Retina display for MBA and MBP 13-17inch
    Ivy Bridge Processors
    Longer battery life
    Standard SSD HD
    Slimmer design/redesign

There are numerous threads about this already, please use the search function before posting.

But I doubt Retina Displays are coming to the new Macs. Because of the high density resolution, every website, program will look blurry or at the very least, you'll be forced to look at half size. I remember when Apple released the iPhone 4 with the retina display, the app store was a mess of blurry apps because none of them were optimized for it. I still have around 10% of my paid apps that are still not optimized. And frankly its not necessary. I'm looking at my Macbook Pro and iMac's resolution and I can't spot a single pixel at normal reading distance.

I believe that they will put in better screens, not retina, but not skimpish like they are slowly being outdated thus far. I think they will just bump up the screens a little.

Ivy bridge...given...duh. With ivy bridge comes (drum roll) USB 3...YAAAAAYYYY!!! Finally!!!

Mountain Lion. The worlds most advanced Operating System. I'm looking forward to it VERY MUCH!

IMO, for the price and amazing thunder even of the MacBook pro (as compared to 99% of the 13"-17" laptops out there), the MacBook pro still gives the user premium battery life for it's class. You are, how ever entitled to your own opinions :)

I want the slimmer design, or at least a beast of a MBA 15". I also want them to kill the optical drive. DON'T BURN ME. When was the last time you used your optical drive. Yeah...I thought so...

I think SSD AND HDD will be come standard. SSD would house the OS and requirements to boot quickly. Once you have booted, the HDD is ready to go. I can see SSDs becoming cheaper if Apple implements them as standard.

Better graphics cards in the whole lineup. Preferably intel HD4000 for a mobile, and something really good from ATi, but preferably a N'vidia dedicated graphics card.

Bette speakers? Maybe, but still better than (as I say) the typical "head phone" speakers in competitor PCs.

    I can't think of much else. :)

You said don't burn you but that last part is a provocative statement. I use my CD drive quite frequently so I don't why you are deciding to speak for everyone else.

    • USB 3.0
    • Thinner, new design
    • No more optical CD/DVD drive
    • Retina display (but not a big deal if this is omitted)
    • OS X Mountain Lion (a given)
    • Faster processor (Ivy Bridge)
    • Better graphics
