Im getting a new laptop soon, and I was hoping to get some suggestions as I dont know too much about computers.

Primary use is going to be for college - taking notes, power point presentations, all that kind of crap.

But I also want a laptop that is capable of running Spore. My regular computer is a piece of crap and wont be able to run it. So please factor that into your suggestions.

I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

Im forgot to mention that it needs to run Microsoft XP.
Ive tried Vista and in my opinion its a piece of crap.
I was thinking about buying the XPS but a friend of mine said that it dosent support
any XP drivers. I dont really know what that means,
but it sounds to me like it isnt compatible.

Im sure that there is a way to install xp on the laptop. I'm not really a fan of dell computers, but I do recommend HP laptops, they are inexpensive and extremely powerful.

Honestly, for School, get a Mac Book.

As for taking notes, if you have an iPhone, make sure you get Evernote. It'll probably save your live during tests.

As well as PDFs. Evernote allows you to take pictures of your notes or your instructor's chalk board. And the Evernote site will use OCR turn the writing it sees to Text documents which you can easily see.

As well as it can record Audio

Get a MacBook. They are defiantely the bes for school. I use mine for school and any type of work or typing all of the time. A MacBook will have a lot of Ram so it will run Spore. Spore only requires 512 mb of ram to run.

Just because you Have X amount of RAM doesn't mean you can run it
