thank you so much! i'm at work right now but as soon as i get home, i'm going to rip it out of the box and follow the instructions. so from the looks of this, its not hard to do? i have no idea about the meaning of "jailbreaking" but i was recommended to do it to mine. will you please tell me what it is so that i have a better understanding?

It's indeed a very easy process. You can do it even if you know nothing about computers.

However I recommend you to first use your iPod (for a few weeks) without it being jailbroken, so you can get comfortable with the device.

After that you might want to read something about jailbreaking so you know exactly what it's all about.

ok; thanks for the information. i've used a friend's ipod touch a few times so i'm somewhat "familiar" with it. i just wanted to do this now so i wont have to bother with it later. what do you use yours most for(your jailbroken ipt)?

Listen, the while love of jailbreaking today is nothing like it was. Honestly, I recommend against jailbreaking, unless you have a specific reason.

    For example:

    Google Voice
    Unlock iPhone
    New interface.

The absolute only reason I jailbreak is because I can't stand the dock that is there. I currently only have three jailbreak apps; Rock (the app store), Winterboard, and iBlank. Plus ReflectiveDock and OldDock.

So yeah. You need reasons. Jailbreaking can make or break your iPod experience (note: not your iPod, but the experience).

I think you should jailbreak but not right after you unpacked your iPod

^ This, unless you are experienced then don't jailbreak right away.

Jailbreaking will also allow things like multitasking and using themes. i would recommend reading up on it first. spend about a week researching before you jailbreak to see if it is really worth it to you.

if you can wait, use Greenpois0n. Chronic dev team says it'll be out before the end of the year.
