Hi, Just purchased the Ipod Touch, Fresh out of the box.

    I installed Firmware 2.2.

I need to jail break the ipod. I am a bit of a novice user.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

2G iPod touch devices have not been jailbroken yet, irregardless of the firmware version.

What 'bimple' was meant to say...

The 2nd generation iPod Touch can not be jailbroken yet. Also, firmware 2.2 can not be jailbroken yet so really, you have no choice but to wait. Sorry!

    Hope this helped.

EDIT: I just realised, it doesn't really say what generation of the touch you have. Is the the first or second one? I'm guessing it's the 2nd gen because you JUST bought it, but I could be wrong because you can still purchase the 1st Gen.

Its 2nd Gen, because it has an external speaker and volume controls on the the top left of the device.

sorry yep I just assumed it was 2g because it was "fresh out of the box" but I know that doesnt always indicate that it is 2g. Sorry for the assumption.
