ok i just opened my ipod touch right out of the box and i plugged it in and it asked me to choose where to open it. it said at the top "camera recognized". it doesnt recognize anything in itunes and im running windows xp. i thought maybe its because i dont have the new itunes downloaded but i searched through threads and they are saying that doesnt help. if that doesnt work what should i do? im downloading the new itunes right now. thanks

edit: i forgot to say that i have an ipod nano 1st gen synched to itunes is that a problem?

It will recognise your ipod touch as a camera because it uses flash memory, which won't act like a hard drive - storing files - like another iPod video, for instance.

It depends how old your iTunes is, but i would think that if it's over a year old then you need to download the new one and that will sort your problem.

If not, perhaps you should restart your computer.

You might be running 2.0 because it has the touch roll and it alows to take screenshots which are shown when you plug it in to the computer.

If you have a camera, make sure it is not plugged into your computer, or any other usb thing for that matter(the mouse and keyboard can stay). I have a Nintendo wifi connector, and sometimes my computer confuses my ipods as that thing.

It's a windows problem with the driver. Google it and it will tell you how to fix it. If I get a chance I will try and get you a link.
