I just purchased a new ipod touch 8 gig today..I went straight from buying it to work and these computers dont support itunes so I cannot yet hook that up and load my music onto the ipod.

I do want to mess around with the ipod until I can get to my personal computer though. I cant seem to get myself to the home page on the ipod though. It just constantly shows the picture with the USB connector pointing at the 'itunes' sign.

any tips on how to access the home screen on it?

Also...i know its probably posted already in here, but maybe some links or tips...Good apps/programs to load...jailbreak procedures..that kinda thing to get me off on the right food.

Ill be exploring the forum a bit as well.

    Thanks in advance!

Thats just the initial setup screen.

Go home, install iTunes, open iTunes, then plug it in.
iTunes will then recognize it as a brand new iPod, and the screen will dissapear shortly after connecting it.

As for the cool apps, just go to the search button at the top of this page and type in must-have apps, and there will be plenty results.

Yeah, once you connect it for the first time, like 2 seconds after you do, it will restart normally.

Oh, and when you get on your Home PC, tell me if it came with 2.2.1, or 3.0, because I'm curious. If it came with 2.2.1, upgrade to 3.0.

    ITS WORTH THE 10 BUCKS.

    Will do!

I was just on the apple site, started reading about it then close it to find a forum to go on.

What are the benefits?...if you want to explain..other wise, I can read up on it haha!

<----I just made a guess on what it was and guess " 2.2.1"

You can use bluetooth headphones (like wireless headphones or bluetooth car stereos)

Ughm... push notifications for applications is available on 3.0
... (and most apps are gonna be 3.0 only soon...)

    Improved battery life.
