Alright, first things first: Install iTunes from here
When it finishes installing, plug your iPod in, set it up by giving it a name (lol), and make sure its up to date by clicking the upgrade button.
If it needs an update, it will download the firmware and update itself.
Ok, now you need a store account to get some great apps.
Create a store account by clicking on iTunes Store on the left, then click App Store in the page. Find any free app you like, and download it. When it prompts you for a store account, click Create a Store Account. Go through the process of creating it, then for payment, either input your credit card number, Paypal Number, or select none. After you created the store account, you can go and gets some apps. Some great apps to download are Shazam, Facebook, Movies, Remote, Labyrinth, and a ton load more.

Well now you have the store account ready, its time to get some music and videos. You can either purchase them from the iTunes Store or import music CDs onto iTunes. When you get some media and stuff, sync your iPod with your apps and media.

You can also download apps, videos and music from the iPod itself. You will need a store account and your iPod will have to be connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Thats about it. All the hardwork is now done, and all that is left is to enjoy your iPod.

If you have any questions, give me a PM or post here.

    Thanks alot

I did run in a couple of questions

    1) Nevermind, I managed to fix this problem^^

    2) I copied some songs to the iTunes but I can't manage to get it ordered in folders, it just throws all the songs in one huge list,
is there something I can do to change this?

    Thanks alot!

yes, you can create playlists by clicking Cmnd + N (mac) or Ctrl + N (windows). give your playlist a name, then drag and drop songs onto that playlist. you can make as many playlists as you want.

and once you get to know your ipod and all the settings and all that better, you can then jailbreak to get even more out of it, including themes, addons, plugins, etc.

OK, I just bought a new 64gb Ipod Touch and I will be factry resetting my old 16gb one to sell on. What I want to do obviously is get all my existing content - music - apps - etc onto the new one without re-buying all my apps, or whatever - the music shouldn't be an issue as I can rebuild the library.

Anyone tell me how to go about this?

    TIA

    1. You do not need to pre-charge your ipod/iphone, you can start using it right away. Make sure to keep the device away from high temperature or in direct sunlight. Also, fully drain the battery at least once every 2 weeks. Other than that you can keep it fully charged all the time.

    2. You can re-download any app from the appstore after signing into your account, but you must authorize your computer to install the apps onto your device.
