Clearly the new one is better. But here in the UK on PAYG, it's expensive. I am in my teens and don't really have that much money. I can get the 16gb old iPhone brand new from o2 for £229 but the new iPhone 8GB is £299. I can only get the old one for a limited time though. These are the things i want to know:

-Should i get the old one or the new one?

-If i should get the new one, how do i make a bit more money?

-If i get the old one and unlock it, what are the risks of apple bricking it?

    Cheers!

Buy the old one unlock it and sell it on ebay when the new ones are released.

The new ones will be unlocked. But apple and the networks are making it harder to buy one without that 2 year commitment. Once people realize they cant just go in and pick one up The resale value of the old ones will shoot way up! If not theres always some idiot out there that would buy it.

Have you got the link or other proof of this? No iPhones are currently available to buy new in the UK, so where are you getting the old 16gb brand new for £100 less then it was originally sold for when available.

They must be clearing stock but that is a bit weird, they are supposed to hold a floating stock of the old models to swap out with existing sold iPhones that fail in Warranty (battery issue, lower screen non responsive etc). As far as I was aware the 16gb never had a price drop, just the 8gb and that sold out in two weeks of it dropping in price.
