    Hey Iptf!

I know for sure that I'm buying an iPhone in June, but I wanna know if the next model will be able to be unlocked. I don't want to be bound to at&t so is it?

No one knows. Its not even out yet. I wouldnt buy one and count on an unlock. The last iPhone took months to unlock and is still not fully unlocked. Only those with 1 certent baseband can be unlocked. So people who updated or bought an iphone after 2.2 are stuck with no unlock.

In short dont hold your breath. There is a good chance they might not even be able to jailbreak them.

Well of course its not out yet but i was just wondering if Apple would be able to stop unlocking on it all together.

And isn't there a baseband downgrader tool that people can use to get to an earlier bb version?

    .....
It's always been "unlockable proof", but it never is.

They could and they always try. All the unlocks to date are because of coding mastakes by apple, maybe this time they will be extra carefull.

The BB downgrader tool only works on phones bought around day one.

I'm pretty sure Apple will be careful this time. They're loosing a bit of profit with all these unlocks.

Lucky for me... My contract with T-Mobile ends in June, same month as iPhone announcement. SOOOO... I'm happy to go with O2
