Well, i'm receiving an iPhone 2G tomorrow(i'm gettin it for free so don't say I shoulda got a 3G haha)and i've been jailbroken on my touch for a few months, but all this unlocking and activating through Winpwn is new to me. How do you bypass the "Activate through iTunes" without activating through iTunes? How do I go about activating once i'm unlocked?(I have to do pay as you go...)

    THANKS ALOT, Codei.

You "hactivate" to get through the activation process. QuickPwn does this automagically, unlock works for firmwares <2.2.1.

yeah so if it is 2.2.1 - unlucky, you cannot unlock it.

Said that was on iPhone 3G...

So in Quickpwn it gets stuck on waiting for iPhone to connect in recovery mode. It goes into recovery mode, but Quickpwn never goes to the next step. I'm on Vista 32-bit. What do I do?

Any 2G can be unlocked and it does not matter what firmware it is on (for now at least).

I have never worked on an iPhone on a PC but I have heard of people having to attempt the JB / unlock a few times.

I would suggest putting it in DFU mode; do a factory restore to 2.2.1 via iTunes and start the QuickPwn process over. Also, make sure you are using the latest version of QuickPwn (2.2.5 I think).
