This is a discussion thread for the "New iOS Lock Screen Concept Expands on Camera Shortcut" story posted on the front page.
It's okay. Apple certainly could do this. I could see them doing it. I'm not saying they would do exactly this, but it is a concept that Apple could do. It's nothing crazy...you know, like widgets and all of that.
You know what? Screw Apple! All of these Jailbreak concept designers and the Dev-Team should just make their own OS! I'm being serious. If Apple doesn't introduce even half of all of the amazing concepts created in 2012, all of these people should come together and make their own OS. If not that, then release a compilation of all of the best concepts of 2012 and release it on Cydia. That would be aweosme.
Double tapping the home button on the lock screen brings up the music controls if music is playing. And I would like to access it whether music is playing or not and without wearing my home button two clicks every time.
Because writing an OS just requires making cool Animations in AfterEffects and Photoshop... seems legit... why haven't I made my own OS yet? On topic: It seems kinda cool, but honestly, the camera-swipe was put there for a sole reason; that the moments where you want to take a photo are very brief and come swiftly most of the times. Having to search for the camera icon after unlocking your phone is guaranteed to make you lose the motive. That's why it was put there, to give you one-swipe-access to the camera. Now for the Phone, Music and Text app, there's only rare occasions where you need to open Phone, Music or Text in an instant. And if you want to reply quickly to a Text message, or call someone back, there's always that nice notification swiping on the homescreen. My two cents. You might be on another version of iOS than me, but on my 5.1 4S the Music Controls always pop up when you double tap the homebutton, no matter if music is playing.
Why? I like the idea and it would work if your home button doesn't work. My iPhone 4's button started to act up before I sold it and I would hate to have that happen to my 5G. The less home button pressing I have to do, the better. On Topic: I like the extra shortcuts and how they're hidden.
