Does anyone else have this problem? It always freezes when updating the sources upon startup. I'm on 2.0.1.

This is one of the worst bugs in the newest version of the beta. That is the main reason I'm not using it right now. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next update to the beta. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with trying to update so many sources at the same time. But it does need to be fixed.

i don't see the point to have installer anymore. everyone was all excited about it coming to 2.0, but i like how cydia looks and works a lot more than installer. idk installer is just too buggy (even for a late beta) and i don't like having only 4 tabs without an install/remove and an update tab.

also, the update section in installer doesn't show only your updated apps, but it shows all apps that have been updated.

Yeah, Installer sucks big time. I stopped trying to use it after the most recent update because of the freezing while updating sources. 2.0 was my first jailbreak, so I have no previous experience with Installer; all I know is the here and now. Right now, I prefer Cydia.

    yeah
Got the Beta 5 too and it freezes more than the beta 4 :-s

And I didn't noticed some performance or updates than from the Beta 4

Anyway, I hope they'll fix it soon ;-)
There aren't much interessting apps yet, so I don't use it a lot now.

    Time will tell

This was happening to me too! Pissed me off so much!

Figured out how to get around it though.

Instead of charging right in and changing tabs straight away.
Don't touch anything until Installer has finished updating your sources.

Works for me every time now.
