Whenever i try to update installer it comes up with the message "Error, not enough free space to update installer! please free at least 512 KB of space", i have deleted at least 3MB from my installer apps and in settings / iTunes it says i have 13Gb free (i dont have any videos, just music + games).

    Please help!

So when i run clear disk space do i only move the apps or should i move fonts/ringtones (i dont have any to my recollection)? (because i have 42MB free out of 300 MB apparently)

And in future will all of my apps i download go directly to /var?

Do all three items. It creates a symlink so all your apps will be installed in the larger partition.
