New installer beta crashed my ipod

    well, the tital says it all
    i saw that installer had an update
    thought i might as well
    and, well, i exited from installer to the home screen when it appeared
    to be doing nothing and then it rebooted my ipod and since then my ipod has been spiraling downward in a series of reboots
    i'm restoring right now
    just thought i'd tell you guys

    Installer 4 Beta 8 did that too, as of a month and a bit ago. Community Sources is the culprit - kill that and you MIGHT be able to get back in again. Or just delete installer.app via SSH if you can get in.

    That's why people have been warned away from Installer 4 - because it can (and does) SWoD iPods.

    too late, i'm restoring already
    i'm just glad that most of my custom stuff is backed up on my comp
    and that i backed up my ipod in itunes
    2 days ago just incase it suddenly died, as i hadn't backed it up in a while
    lol
    i'm thinkin' it was a good thing i did

    Seriously stay away from Installer.
    Who comes out with a beta 8? I'm begininng to suspect that the new developers are actually Apple employees who are deliberately sabotaging jailbreakers.

    It's the most unstable piece of crapware out there. Everything is on Cydia anyway so there's no reason to use it. If you must jailbreak install Cydia only, uncheck the Installer checkbox in Quickpwn
