I'm a brand new developer and know very little about any language. Can some of you give me information on guides and books that you used to learn the different languages. Ive been told I need to know C, Cocoa, and then cocoa touch. Any others I need to know?

Thanks for your help, I'm really hoping I can develop some cool things that the community can use.

    you need to know objective-C

there are a couple books from O'Reilley that concern the language
    these are:
    "Learning Cocoa with Objective-C"
    and
    "iPhone SDK Application Development"

there are also a couple from Addison Wesley called:
    "The iPhone Developer's Cookbook"
    and
    "Programming in Objective-C 2.0"

out of those, i'd recommend "Learning cocoa with Objective-C" and "Programming in Objective-C 2.0"
however, the other 2 are iphone-specific and you'll therefore learn all the iphone-specific code

Erica Saduns iPhone Developer cookbook is also really useful. I'm on my phone so can't post a link sorry. You can find it by searching on the amazon website.

Note: The iphone developers cookbook is good, but it is only good if you already know O-C, it just gives you bits of code. It leaves out alot and assumes you will know what to do, like declaration for example.
