this is the jailbreak to use. once jailbroken, just pick up the app pack through installer from iptm's repo and you're set. summerboard works with this one.

OK, I rebooted my PC a few times, and thankfully my apps synced with my ipod.

I tried this method again starting with a jb 1.1.2 with BSD Subsystem 2.0.

I installed Official 1.1.3 Upgrader thru installer which installs an upgrade icon on my springboard. Tapped that and let it do it's thing. This time after 45 minutes it again went to a black screen. I rebooted and I had 1.1.3.

    EXCEPT

    I had no wifi....

    Now what is wrong?!?!?

    I don't know...

All I know is I will tell everyone that they should do this from scratch... and will have no problems at all.

Step 1: Put your ipod into DFU mode.
Step 2: Go back to 1.1.1
Step 3: Jailbreak 1.1.1 using the tinyurl address
    Step 4: Install oktoprep
    Step 5: Shift+update to 1.1.2
Step 6: Run the 1.1.2 Jailbreak (one with the .bat file)
    Step 7: Install BSD Subsystem
    Step 8: Update Installer
Step 9: Install this Jailbreak App
Step 10: Run it and wait (Make sure auto-lock is off)
    Step 11: Enjoy 1.1.3!

I've done it a few times today for friends.. this way is flawless. 100% working every single time.

    Thank you for this :)

I am confused over one thing though. I did everything you said and I started from scratch. I now have a jb 1.1.2. What is the 1.1.3 jb .bat file in step 6?

Do I just go into installer now and install the official 1.1.3 upgrader under packages?

Edit...Ahh I believe you meant run the 1.1.2 jb .bat file. That makes sense :)

If you've installed openSSH through the Installer, it should work.
Go to the Terminal and type
    ssh -l root <your iPodT IP address>

and wait for about 30-35 secs, then you will have a prompt for the root password.

It took time to generate the keys.

    Good luck http://static-cache.ifans.com/images2/smilies/wink.gif

OK.....I ran this soft upgrade as per step 9 and now the screen just says attempting to reboot and has been here for about 25 minutes. Is this normal? Should I still be waiting?
