If you've jailbroken your iPad, you've likely noticed that the Cydia icon does not match the other default icons on the device. This is due to the fact that the Cydia icon is just a scaled up version of the iPhone Cydia icon, which is based on icons from iOS 2.0. The other default icons were re-rendered for the iPad (and iOS 4.0). Although I have no interest in theming my iPad, the Cydia icon was bugging me. So, I decided to whip up a replacement. I have also made a new icon for iPhones and iPod touches running iOS 4, which you can find (in multiple colors) here.

To install without winterboard, SSH into your iPad and navigate to /Applications/Cydia. Copy your desired color to that directory and rename it icon-72.png. Then respring and you're all set.

For those of you wondering, I am working on a version of the icon that matches the blue found in the App Store icon. It should be ready soon (I have to remake the icon using the App Store icon as a base in order to get the correct color). The iPhone version is already done in App Store blue and can be found by following the link above.

    Enjoy!

Awesome, the default icon is really low-res. Thanks, looks much better now.

Ifile is so easy to use.. You copy it and rename the file? save it to the photo library and access it via iFile, then copy to Cydia.app's folder and rename it.

Where is the photo library located in file? I found folders that looked like they should be it, but they were empty...
