    I just set up a new computer, installed itunes, plugged in my ipod touch, and watched as I got a series of messages saying it was removing the apps from my ipod touch. What is that about? Why would I want my apps--which I paid for--to be removed? I stopped it before all were gone, but it removed a bunch of them. What am I doing wrong?

    Did you set up your AppStore account on that computer? Or Authorize it?

    Right click -> Transfer Purchases.

    Thanks, but...

    Ok--I'm transferring purchases now. But how do I get back the apps that it removed? I guess I can go to my old computer, where I suppose they still are. But is there another way? And why did it removed apps; surely that's not anything people want done?

    You can redownload them. Free.

    Or go to the iTunes folder on your computer and transfer the applications.

    Where do I find the iTunes folder on my (Windows Vista) computer? I have text that I wrote in a notepad app that I don't want to lose, and which I don't imagine I'll get back if I re-download the app.

    Also: transferring purchases seems to have moved my podcasts to my new computer, but not my audiobooks. And sync'ing afterward did nothing more.

    Actually it's just the Audible.com audiobooks that don't move to my iTunes library. I can re-download them from my Audible library. But I'm still wondering how to get my removed app, with their content, back.
