Edit: already here. ipt3 has the new bootrom already, and this is why the JB requires a tether. I'm afraid this entire post/thread was based on a misunderstanding. Please disregard. Sorry Please Register or Log in to view images ______________________ It appears the very latest iPhone 3GS are shipping with new bootrom code- and are not vulnerable to the 24kpwn, and (for the moment) not JB'able. http://www.ifans.com/2009/10/14/new-iphone-3gs-units-jailbreak-resistant/ What's new is, Apple has never switched bootroms in midstream before; they have waited for a new hardware generation to come around. Considering how similar the 3GS and ipt 3G internals are, is it likely that Apple is also planning to (or is already) shoveling out a new bootrom, that would break the current JB on upcoming units? Just wondering, so far. Its idle speculation, but I'm trying to imagine how this would (or would not) complicate the situation with blackra1n/greenpo1son having a successful, working JB. (tethered or untethered) From user reports so far, it looks like at least *some* ipt 3G still have the older bootroms, and blackra1n gives a nice tethered JB.
