i have changed the battery in my 30gig Series 5 today, when i tried to close the back a few sparks and a small amount of smoke was visible, i took that battery out and took it back to the shop (don't know if i am allowed to say what shop it was), they changed it for me and i reinstalled the NEW battery, no sparks no smoke, but when i plug it in the USB nothing comes on the screen it will not reboot when holding the menu and middle button (yes i have slid the HOLD button) and nothing.

Have i just wasted 14 quid?
